ABOUT CDA IN NEW MEXICO
The State of New Mexico is comprised of three (3) Diocesan territories all are ecclesiastical territories of the Roman Catholic Church. They include the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, the Diocese of Las Cruces and the Diocese of Gallup.
At present, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe covers an area of 61,142 square miles. There are 93 parish seats and 226 active missions throughout this area. Archbishop John Wester leads the diocese.
The Diocese of The Diocese of Las Cruces comprises 10 Southern Counties in the State of New Mexico. It serves over 234,550 Catholics through 47 parishes, 44 missions, and four schools. Bishop Peter Baldacchino leads the diocese.
The Diocese of Gallup was founded in 1939, the Diocese of Gallup covers over 55,000 square miles in the states of New Mexico and Arizona. It is the poorest Diocese in the United States. Bishop James S. Wall leads the diocese.
Our State Court includes Catholic Daughters all three Diocese. Our state membership stands at 995 members with 29 active courts.
